Natural Resources: Land Use - Planning

The League supports planning for land use in Mississippi. Specifically, the League:

• Encourages better land use planning

• Supports development of county subdivision regulations and county zoning laws.

• Advocates the state accept responsibility for:
  - Selected areas and activities of statewide concern.
  - Areas in which local government has no land use patterns.
  - Providing standards for overall land use within the state.
