The League supports planning for land use in Mississippi. Specifically, the League:
- Encourages better land use planning
- Supports development of county subdivision regulations and county zoning laws.
- Advocates the state accept responsibility for:
- Selected areas and activities of statewide concern.
- Areas in which local government has no land use patterns.
- Providing standards for overall land use within the state.
